Video #2:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Chase’s update following hearing regarding the preliminary injunction filed by the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe<\/a>.  According to the ETP lawyers, the drilling is 100% done, however the pipeline will not be functional until April 1.  The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe<\/a> was trying to force the injunction through “certain legal theories stemming from the Religious Freedom Restoration Act<\/a> and the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Person’s Act<\/a>.<\/span>”  Chase concludes that “from the way the judge was asking questions, western jurisprudence doesn’t comprehend the sacred connection that native people have to the water, sacred sites, & the land.<\/span>”  Chase goes on to remind the moral obligations <\/em>the U.S. has with Native people, then explains the audacity <\/em>of the Judge’s character, whom asked, “If ceremonies could be performed with water that is poisoned or toxic either from oil spills or from other contaminants,<\/span>” and “would that affect Native peoples’ ability to perform those ceremonies?<\/span>”  <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

     Chase goes on to explain that the court’s he is permitted to practice in- that body of law- is designed to expropriate native nations & subjugate native nations within a certain framework- mental- and by extension spiritual- framework. <\/em> Chase explains that the frontline is an important aspect of fighting this & that it cannot just <\/em>be done in the courtroom.  <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
