About 20 minutes after driving with the caravan, Dewey attempts to ask a security agent<\/span> “What is going on?”<\/span> alongside the construction equipment, however the man walks briskly so as to not acknowledge Dewey’s presence. \u00a0Myron continues on, assessing the circumstances & engaging with people to see\u00a0through indigenous eyes.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0“<\/span><\/span><\/span>Update @ ~ 11 am<\/span>“<\/span> \u00a0Myron Dewey & an unidentified assistant in his vehicle trail a distance behind a line of<\/span> security<\/a> &<\/span> state & local law enforcement<\/a> vehicles. \u00a0<\/span><\/span>At 21:30, on Highway 6 within<\/span> the 20 mile buffer zone<\/a>, they pull alongside a security vehicle. \u00a0Myron hollers,<\/span> “Which way do we need to go to get out?”<\/span> \u00a0After no response, they continue to drive. \u00a0The passenger notes,<\/span> “Nebraska plates 15H D90.” <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0Myron drives, then backs up, then stops again by vehicle, asking,<\/span> “We’re press. \u00a0<\/em>Where can we safely be at?”. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Man wearing a badge (potentially\u00a0Jason Stugelmeyer<\/a>)<\/span>\u00a0exits his vehicle, leans into Dewey’s vehicle, & begins pointing, while stating,<\/span> \u00a0“Get out of here. \u00a0You can safely leave –\u00a0right now.<\/em>“<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Myron & his partner drive forward & reflect, at which point Myron requests people to<\/span> “Come and w<\/span><\/span>itness what is going on here.\u00a0\u00a0Officers that are outside their jurisdiction,\u00a0operate on Indian <\/em>land. \u00a0On\u00a0broken treaty land<\/em>.<\/span>” \u00a0<\/span>They then turn the vehicle around to return to the cluster of vehicles. \u00a0Several, Dewey recalls, are<\/span> “from camp.” <\/span><\/span><\/strong>(he’s identifying vehicles of individuals who must be undercover agents)<\/span><\/em>. \u00a0They also recognize DAPL security. \u00a0A State Trooper approaches the vehicle to check in & make sure Myron is safe & not broken down. \u00a0Myron inquires about why all the officers are\u00a0with\u00a0<\/em>DAPL security, & the he responds that<\/span> “there was some vandalism to some equipment. \u00a0I’m just trying to keep the peace.”<\/span> \u00a0After officer leaves, Myron looks around through the binoculars to see they are\u00a0surrounded\u00a0<\/em>by security vehicles & DAPL employees, who then begin driving & following the officers’ vehicles along a construction road. \u00a0At this point Myron comments this is the most officers he’s ever seen.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
